QUESTIONS
What is Barre Class like?
Classes are typically mixed level - modifications or advancements shown. I teach a fusion class that blends yoga and pilates for warmups on our mats. Usually half way through we we head for barre work. I start descending into cool-down a few minutes before we finish class and close with an essential oil assisted stretch for each student.
What do I wear?
For all barre classes, stretchy clothes allowing you to move freely. No shoes please ( lots of foot work!) bare feet socks or yoga/barre socks suggested. Please bring a yoga mat. Everything else is provided.
Seasonal offering -What about the weather for outdoor classes? (May-Oct)
Its so fun to take Barre outside in the summer! Classes will only be cancelled for rain/cold. You will not lose your pre-booked class. It will move back to your package for you to reschedule. For outdoor classes, comfort comes first, layers are suggested. Details on outdoor classes come to your inbox when you book. Mssg me if you have any questions.
Whats your cancellation policy"?
I don’t believe in them. I have worked in many studios and spas and have also been a client and a student. Life happens: Your car may not start or you may wake up feeling like you need to stay in bed. There should never be pressure to do something you aren’t feeling into. That said, of course I ask for the curtesy of a call text or email so I can give your mat to someone else.
Do I need to know ballet?
Absolutely not. No dance or ballet experience required. While Barre stems from ballet training, you will learn some classical ballet positions and learn how they help tone and carve our bodies when done in reps. But this is considered a fusion class, blending multiple forms of fitness into one cardio and sculpting class.
